At Lone Pine

The Australian Navy Band and the Aussie crowd

"The band was great and they were having a great time too
They played heaps of ACDC and Cold Chisel
and their last song was (I don’t know the name of it) but the chorus is:
“We are one, but we are many, and from all the lands of earth we come,
we share a dream, and sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian”
The crowd was singing at the top of their voices - me included
(yes more tears - even now as I type!)
I know that I am pretty patriotic when it comes to Australia
but I how I felt on ANZAC Day at Lone Pine and at ANZAC Cove
is really quite beyond words.
I cried a lot but they were good tears"
