The hotel offers twin, triple and quad rooms with no bunk beds.

Friday 23rd January 2004
"On Friday I was asked to move rooms
to live with Karen and a girl called Nikki (Sth African girl)
I was thinking about it because it is a much bigger room and has a balcony
but it is on the road and there is an extra person
but I liked the idea of not having to use my suitcase anymore
I had a talk to Ryan who is the manager and Gerry who owns it
and they both said I would be silly to move as we have the best room in the place
I said that I knew that
but I needed more cupboard space which was the only thing making me want to move
Ryan and I walked around the hostel
checking in all the rooms looking for things for my room
Then we found a great cupboard and that got moved in on Saturday!
I don't have to use my suitcase anymore and I feel like a normal person
I said that while we were at it can Linda and I please have coat hooks
behind the door so we got them too
Ryan said that me and Linda are the two most demanding tenants
- always asking questions
but we can't be that bad because I reckon we get looked after pretty well too"

Tuesday 8th June 2004
"I had coffee with Ryan (Nevern hostel manager) last night
They are having a 'first birthday party' at the hostel
and want the old residents to come back
They are putting on food and drink
It should be a good night if the weather stays nice and it is light until 10pm"

Friday 11th June 2004
"Friday night I went straight from work to the hostel
They were having their first birthday party
and we were invited back to celebrate
It was strange being back there
and there were heaps of people that I didn't know but heaps still that I did
The owners Roger and Jerry were there
and kept joking that I had to leave because no visitors were allowed after 10pm
I had a nice chat to Bob and Jenny
They are an older couple (you will see the photos) that have been there
almost the whole year the place has been open
They don't want to move out
They said that they miss their kids at home like crazy
and like being around all of us
They said that there are sometimes they would rather their own place
but on the whole like it there
They said that they missed seeing me around which was nice
I ran into them in Turkey too
- so they get around just like us young ones and they have grandkids!
That was the same with me
I think I might still be there if Tamara hadn't found my room
They put on lots of grog and a big feed and we had a heap of fun"
