(Return to "Nine days in Egypt" albumn)

Day Nine - Sunday 14th November 2004

CAIRO and back to LONDON

Once more a 4.30am start!!!
Off to the airport
Flew over the European Alps "and it was a lovely sight"
Snow everywhere - "different to Egypt!!"
Back home in London and "the weather was cold and overcast"

So just for something different I got up at 4.30am!

Met three of our group downstairs for the taxi to the airport.
I will admit to feeling quite anxious to find the same taxi driver waiting for us that had broken down last night - I definitely did not want to be late to the airport and miss the flight!

The flight back was uneventful but we flew over the European Alps and it was a lovely sight.
There was snow everywhere - quite a change from Egypt!

I got home - washed and unpacked ready for work on Monday.

The weather was cold and overcast - the sunshine fast becoming a distant memory.

"It was really the trip of a lifetime
and one of my most memorable birthdays
Never in a million years did I think that I would go to Egypt
and ride camels and donkeys, swim in the Nile,
climb inside one of the Great Pyramids at Giza
or go to the Valley of the Kings
and stand inside the tomb of King Tutankhamen
and be face-to-face with him (his mummy)
but I did!"
