After the previous night I
was a bit slower than Brett was but we got up and headed for our
day of London sightseeing.
The adventure started before we even got on the bus outside my
house where we witnessed a motorcycle accident.
I must say that watching the body of the rider skid across the
ground and come to rest against the wheels of another car was
one of the most awful things I have seen!
He was okay though and there were doctors around to help him out.
Brett and I went to Hyde Park Corner to get our open top bus.
Our first stop was Buckingham
Palace.
We just missed the changing of the guard - thankfully and the
crowd was starting to thin.
The flag was up and once again Lizzy was home.
We got back on the bus and
went to Westminster.
We wandered by the Abbey and by Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament
- took some photos and kept going.
Back on the bus and around through Central London, the Strand, Fleet Street, over Tower Bridge, by the Tower of London and St Pauls.
We hopped of the bus down by
Westminster embankment and checked out the times for the boat
cruise that was included in our bus ticket.
We went and had a quick lunch and made it back in time for the
boat cruise.
We cruised from Westminster to Tower Bridge and back again.
It was quite nice and the commentary is always interesting.
I think Brett took the chance for a bit of a nap!
After the boat cruise it was
time for the London Eye.
It was great!
It goes so high and you can see so far.
I could see Earls Court from the top which is where I used to
live.
The Houses of Parliament are huge and they just looked tiny.
It takes about 30 minutes to do the turn.
The scary thing was having to get on and off it while it was still
moving.
There was plenty of room to move around.
I definitely recommended as a tourist activity if you ever get
to visit London.
That night was a quiet one.
Home for a nap and then to the internet café and dinner.
I took Brett to a great place called Wagamamas.
It was about a 15 minute bus ride which was apparently too long
and I was told that I wasnt allowed to pick the restaurant
ever again.
He really liked the food but apparently it was too far!
