"The Boat Race"

Oxford v Cambridge

Wednesday 24th March 2004
"I should be going to this on Sunday
Might be a bit cold.
The temps are okay - but the wind is yukky!"

Monday 29th March 2004
"Anyway I didn't go down to the race on Sunday
It was a bit cold and I was tired so I watched it in bed"

A note from Geoff to Tanya
"I saw it!!!
I was watching TV early this morning while having my coffee
and Sky News had a live-cross-over to the Rowing Race
and the reporter was standing at
Hammersmith Bridge!!!
Saw it all, and thought "Tanya goes across that every day!!!"
Looked just like the snaps you took
I wondered where you were watching from because they interviewed a few of the spectators"
......and Tanya's reply
"I was watching the race from my house on the telly!!
All the good stuff like the two clashes was done by the time they got to Hammersmith Bridge
It is cool though
That is funny that you got to see where I go everyday day
It is a lovely very distinctive bridge though"

Cambridge

The result leaves the overall score at 78-71 to Cambridge, with one dead heat.

The 150th Boat Race attracted a peak television audience of 8.9m people on the BBC - the highest figure for more than 10 years.
