An email from Tanya
"It's thirty degrees here at the moment!!!"

"What a Scorcher!!!"

Roads are expected to be jammed across the three-day Bank Holiday weekend
- despite the weather turning much cooler

Traffic hotspots are likely to include Cardiff, where the football play-off finals will be taking place

Temperatures reached a sizzling 31.8C (90F) in London Friday,
making it the hottest May day for more than 50 years

Weathermen said a similar figure was recorded in 1953,
while the all-time record May temperature was 33C (91.4F) recorded in 1944

Saturday saw conditions turn much cooler, with temperatures dropping by more than 10C
as a cooler front comes in

It was dry in most of England and Wales but fresher,
with temperatures barely scraping into the high teens
Showers were forecast for Northern Ireland and Scotland,
where some "significant" rainfall was expected

Sunday looks like turning out largely sunny, with just the odd shower
and some cloud coming over in the Southeast
Monday is thought likely to turn out not quite as good

Tanya enjoying the hot weather - but in Cairns!!!
