The Show

Guys And Dolls

Ewan McGregor will return to the West End in this legendary toe-tapper

The Donmar Warehouse's new production of Frank Loesser's classic musical, Guys and Dolls, is its first new London production in 23 years

A superb cast is headed by Ewan McGregor as the famous gambler, Sky Masterson, with Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell

Guys and Dolls tells the story of a group of small-time gamblers and the ladies in their lives

Set in New York, a group of gamblers gather for “The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York”, but Nathan Detroit (played by Douglas Hodge) needs $1,000 to set the game up

As any right thinking gambler would do in that situation, he bets Sky Masterson (Ewan McGregor) $1,000 that he can’t get Salvation Army prude Sarah Brown to accompany him to Havana

On top of his gambling problems, Detroit also has to deal with the affections of the amorous Miss Adelaide (Ally McBeal's Jane Krakowski), who is trying to make him settle down

Nathan Detroit bets his pal, Sky Masterson, that he can't make the next lady he sees fall in love with him, and when the next lady happens to be the prim and proper neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an evening of high spirited entertainment, set to the toe tapping beat of Loesser's superlative compositions

Ewan McGregor makes a welcome return to the West End since Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs in 1999
He is best known internationally for big screen credits such as Star Wars, Down With Love, Little Voice, A Life Less Ordinary, Trainspotting and Brassed Off
He also won huge critical acclaim alongside Nicole Kidman in Baz Luhrmann's musical movie Moulin Rouge

Jane Krakowski is most famous for her role in Ally McBeal and her recent Tony Award nominated performance on Broadway in the musical 'Nine' alongside Antonio Banderas

Michael Grandage's award-winning musical theatre credits include Merrily We Roll Along, Privates on Parade and the current critically acclaimed hit Grand Hotel

Frank Loesser's score features classic songs such as 'Luck be a Lady', 'Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat', 'Adelaide's Lament', 'I've Never Been in Love Before', 'If I Were a Bell' and the wonderful title song 'Guys and Dolls'
